Nowadays, cremation is available for those who would like to keep the ashes of their loved ones at home for convenience, for those trying to reduce the funeral cost or the cost of purchasing a burial lot, and to safely dispose of the remains of a loved one hit by a contagious disease such as those who had COVID-19.

Urn flower arrangements are used in after-cremation necrological services or as columbarium flowers.
